Position: Venue Security Manager - Aviva Studios (Manchester)
Salary: £30,013 per annum
Schedule: 40 hours per week (office days plus events - including evenings/weekends)

Aviva Studios, the home of Factory International, is a landmark new cultural space for Manchester and the world. The multi-use venue can adapt to host any kind of set-up — from intimate theatre shows and intricate exhibitions, to huge multimedia performances and warehouse-scale gigs fit for the greatest artists of our time.
The Venue Security Manager will take responsibility for planning, scheduling, venue liaison, and overseeing security operations at Aviva Studios. This includes leading on event security delivery, managing the 24/7 Operational Control Room (OCR), and ensuring a safe, professional, and efficient security service for all visitors, team and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead security planning for events, prepare detailed deployment schedules, costings and briefings.
• Use Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) to design dot plans, reports, security schedules and cost sheets.
• Act as lead manager for larger events, working alongside Event Silver Command in the control room.
• Deliver post-event debriefs, ensuring continuous improvement and accurate record keeping.
• Manage timesheets and reporting through FGH Security integrated systems.
• Liaise with Factory International operations teams to align security delivery with event requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with external partners, local authorities, and emergency services.
• Deliver security presentations and inductions for new Factory International team members, including briefings for senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Oversee day and night reports from the OCR team and resolve any concerns promptly.
• Support the continuous upskilling of OCR team on security systems and updates.
• Manage 10–12 full and part-time core team members, conducting quarterly one-to-one development meetings.
• Work with St John’s estate security team to address issues relating to vagrancy, substance misuse and vulnerable individuals across the wider estate.
• Collaborate with facilities teams to maintain critical building and security systems.
Candidate Profile:
• Proven experience in venue or event security management.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
• Excellent organisational skills, with experience in scheduling, reporting and cost management.
• Confident communicator able to liaise effectively with clients, partners, and senior stakeholders.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable delivering training and presentations.
• Knowledge of OCR operations, incident response and partnership working with external agencies.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
• SIA Door Supervision or Close Protection Licence.
• Minimum of 2 years’ management experience within the security industry, ideally with knowledge of the live events sector.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and strong organisation/attention to detail.
• Proficiency with software tools and ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
• L5 Crowd Safety Management Qualification.
• L3 in Spectator Safety Qualification.
